What I Enjoyed This Week: The Sun!

I started this new blanket a couple of weeks ago, and I really enjoy it.  I have been knitting easy patterns lately (since Hannah was born, really) because I did not feel like I had the mental energy to work on anything that required some thought.  But I decided to tackle something more difficult this time, and it is going well.  I have made a few mistakes, but I am learning to catch them before I get too far down each row which saves me a lot of work.  :)

This sun actually came out this week a couple of days after raining almost every day for the past three weeks.  Soccer games and practices had been cancelled, so that has not been any fun.  But finally, my girls were able to practice this week.

Here are a few other things I enjoyed this week:
  • A Southern Woman's Story by Phoebe Yates Pember.  This book was an amazing look at the inner workings of a hospital in Richmond during the Civil War.  The author tells about her adventures and misadventures during her years of being the hospital matron.  The misspellings, poor grammar, etc. just lend to the authenticity of this book.
  • the sun!
  • being able to go to CC this week since we had to miss last week due to a sick child.
  • having a neighbor who was willing and able to pull my van out when I got it stuck on our property
  • having supper with a couple of friends
  • a field trip yesterday to the Crocodile Encounter
  • antibiotics for sick children
Rachel has a soccer game today, but that is all that we have planned for the weekend.  I am glad about that because I have a couple of busy weeks coming up, and I could use some time at home Saturday to get ahead.

What did you enjoy this week?  What do you have planned for the weekend?
