What I Enjoyed This Week: An Unplanned Trip to Houston

Neither of my girls had their soccer games last Saturday due to all of the rain we had had the previous  couple of weeks.  Since we were confronted with a Saturday with nothing (John thought) to do, he suggested we head up to Houston to do something fun.  My ever practical side squealed, "No!  I have too much to do!"  But I looked again at my to-do list and saw that I really did not have that much on it, and John helped with a couple of the necessary chores.  So we were good to go!

First we visited the Children's Museum.  Boy, was it crowded!  It seems that we weren't the only ones who needed to get out of the house that day.  But our children had a great time, and now we have a membership so we can return at another time when hopefully it will not be so crowded.

Then we did a little shopping at Costco.  I bought a membership a few months ago, but John had never been.  He wanted to see what it was like, so we dropped by and picked up a few necessities like chocolate chips.  :)

I must admit that I am glad that John convinced me to release my plans for last Saturday so we could go have fun with the family.

Here are a few other things I enjoyed this week:
  • the sunshine!  It did not rain all week although it is supposed to start again tomorrow morning early.
  • soccer practice.  The fields finally dried out enough for practice on Wednesday, so each girl was able to have one practice with her team.
  • there are other, little things like finishing a knitted blanket and reading a good book.
Rachel is supposed to have a game tomorrow, but there are supposed to be thunderstorms so we will see.  Sarah Beth is off this week.  John and I are going out tonight for date night!  Fun!

What did you enjoy this week?  What do you have planned for the weekend?
