Book Review: Night Night, Sleepytown by Amy Parker, Illustrated by Virginia Allyn

Because my toddler and I loved Parker's previous Night Night, Train, I was thrilled to get a copy of this book.  It has the same type of delightful illustrations coupled with fun rhymes.  On each page, the reader and his/her child say "night night" to people in different occupations, reminding both how they are needed to make one's town run smoothly and well.

If we had received this book first, maybe we would have liked it better.  But we were spoiled by the first book which was so wonderful.  This one is nice, but sometimes the poems feel forced instead of flowing naturally as they did in the first book.  We still like this one, don't get me wrong; it is just not one of our favorites.

I want to thank BookLook Bloggers for my review copy of this book, but my opinions are my own.
