What I've Enjoyed This Week:

Seeing my children reading is one of my favorite things.  :)

It rained and rained this week which we desperately needed because it hasn't rained in such a long time.  But we've been relatively homebound this week, so that wasn't much fun.  My children got stir-crazy a few times, and I couldn't send them outside to run off some energy.  Although Mary and Rachel did have fun playing in the rain one afternoon.

We were busy this week with swimming lessons for Rachel and Mary every morning, and the afternoons were full of appointments:  eye doctor and dentist.  Ugh!  I'm hoping that next week will be a little slower; if nothing else, there is only one appointment scheduled.  :)

Here are a few things I enjoyed this week:
  • The Space Between Words by Michele Phoenix.  This book was so good, and I was so sad when it ended because I wanted it to continue!  The author has a wonderful way with words.  After Jessica survives the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris, she goes on a tour of France looking for antiques.  She finds a sewing box that had belonged to a Hugenot girl from the late 1600s and determines to figure out what happened to her and her family.  As she does, she begins to heal from the physical and emotional wounds from the attack.
  • the World Cup.  We've only watched one game so far, but we enjoyed it!
  • If I'm Found by Terri Blackstock.  This book is the second in the series about Casey who has been framed for her friend's murder.
  • lunch with a friend yesterday.  I hadn't seen her in a while, so it was really nice to catch up.
  • since it's been raining, the swimming lessons have been at the indoor pool instead of the outdoor one.  I've enjoyed sitting inside where it is relatively cool as opposed to sweltering in the hot sun.
Thankfully, there aren't any swimming lessons today, but I'm taking Rachel north of Houston for an appointment.  I look forward to the time with her despite the amount of time in the car.  Tomorrow will be busy:  Sarah Beth and Daniel have a swim meet in the morning, and I'm running a 5K that night.  It's going to be hot!  I'm not sure what I was thinking when I decided to run this race.  ;)

What did you enjoy this week?  What do you have planned for the weekend?
