George Washington Carver: Inventor and Educator by Sam Wellman is the first I have read in this series, Heroes of the Faith, and I will look for more as I found this one to be very good. I became interested in George Washington Carver after I read a snippet about him in The Boy who Changed the World. This man led an impressive life as he made his way in the world. He was born into slavery and died as one of the most important agricultural scientists of his time. Of course, everyone knows about his work with the peanut, but I hadn't realized how necessary it was because the boll weevil was decimating the South's cash crop: cotton. This book is a great read about someone who was able to pull himself up by his own bootstraps.
A Light in the Window by Jan Karon is the second in the Mitford series about a small town Episcopalian priest. I really enjoyed the first book At Home in Mitford, and this one was just as good. I hope it doesn't take me two months to find time to read the third!

I also read Out Live Your Life by Max Lucado which has a good message of how we Christians should be helping others. You can read my full review here.
