This Post is Not for You...

...unless you live in Georgia, that is. Of course, you are welcome to read it, even if you don't live in Georgia.

Did you know that the Georgia governor primaries are coming up soon on July 20? Do you know for whom you will vote? Are you like me (before last week), and you don't even know who is running? Let me encourage you to check out Ray McBerry.

My parents hosted a political party for him last week, and they were very impressed when they met him. (My parents had never hosted a political party before, and they have never put up signs for a candidate before. This behavior is very unusual for them.) Immediately afterward, my mother called me up to tell me about him, and I liked what I heard. I had to read up on him for myself, though, before I could make up my mind. I especially enjoyed this paragraph:
The constitutional Republic given us by our Founding Fathers is in great peril today at the hands of an out-of-control federal government; and our states are now the final guardians of our liberty. It is the privilege and duty of the governor to interpose himself between his people and the enemies of their liberty, even when that threat comes from a federal leviathan. As governor, I will take that stand for the people of Georgia and will invoke the doctrine of interposition on their behalf.
Of course, any candidate that I endorse has to be pro-life. (Being a Christian goes without saying, doesn't it?)
I believe that all children, including the unborn, have a right to life and that the state of Georgia has the responsibility to protect that right. I support amending Georgia law so that it more clearly recognizes these basic rights of the unborn, beginning from the moment of conception.
The protection of innocent persons is one of the few legitimate roles of government.
One thing that you may not learn from his website, Ray McBerry homeschools his son. Just knowing that one piece of information means a lot to me because it says so much more about this man. For those of you who homeschool, or plan to, I think you know what I mean.

For more information, I encourage you to check out Ray McBerry's website. If you do, let me know what you think.

If you plan to vote for someone else, I would love to hear about that candidate and why you support him.
