My Plans for my Special Day

When some of my friends asked me yesterday what kind of plans I had for my birthday today, I didn't know what to say because I felt like I had no plans. Then I realized that I do have plans: to do as little housework as possible: no laundry (if I can help it), no cooking, no cleaning. I plan not even to dress my children or change any diapers. (Of course, I'm kidding with that last one because that would just be nasty.) Tonight, we will all go out to eat as a family, using one of the free coupons I received for my birthday, and then we will get some ice cream utilizing another coupon.

What will I do all day? Stare at the wall and twiddle my thumbs. After I get bored with that, I plan to watch Guys and Dolls and crochet. However, I won't be working on John's blanket. I want to do something a little more fun, so I plan to work on this blanket. Isn't it pretty? I don't know yet what I will do with it, but it doesn't matter as long as I have fun working on it. Working on John's blanket isn't dull, but I have made twenty squares (so far) that are exactly the same except for the color.

So far, I have received some nice gifts from my children. Rachel slept all night long. Daniel and Sarah Beth both slept a little late this morning; I didn't get them up until 7:30, so I was able to read my Bible and start this post. The best one, though, was the sweet birthday kiss that Sarah Beth gave me because she tends to be a little stingy with her kisses.

Does this sound like what I did last year on my birthday? What can I say? I like what I like.
