I plan to start another blanket for "Baby Sister" this weekend. She doesn't really need another one, but I would like to take something small and easy to work on in the hospital. Do I really think I will crochet there? Probably not. But I would rather have my yarn and hook and not use it, than not have it and want it. I will probably just hold her the whole time I'm there. Why not? It'll be the only time she'll be an only child.

I was never looking for a way to keep busy in the hospital, but one of my friends said that she and her husband did get bored, so I guess it does happen to some people! You're right -- better to have it and not need it than the other way around.
I guess it just depends on the hospital policies. With my oldest, she wasn't allowed to stay with me all the time, so I did get a little bored, but with the other four I had them all the time. The dr even came to the room to examine them, so I was constantly holding them, rocking, looking at them, etc.
