While we were on our trip to St. Louis this past weekend, I took this blanket to work on. I was able to get a lot done while we were driving and while Daniel was napping back at the hotel. I don't really need to have it done until "Baby Sister" is born, but I would like to finish it early because I have found another pattern (or two) that I would like to start. Isn't that the way it always is?
I did not take this project with me, as it is just too complicated. The pattern itself is fairly simple (not easy, just simple) especially since the motifs "join as you go." But each motif starts with wrapping the thread around a pencil ten times, and then you have to figure out where to join each one. I thought it would be just a little too much for working on in the car. I am ready now to start adding the points onto the star which should be fun.
What projects are you working on now?

I really like that shade of pink! Your baby widget says that you only have 100 days to go. That will fly by!
I really love this blanket. I like the way the different squares make almost a blanket-weave effect.
Sorry WIP Wednesday was a bust this week. I had a mess on my hands: an ER visit, a trip to the zoo, three school parties, and loads of errands, laundry, cooking, etc.
Here's hoping for a slow week!
You are a crocheting machine Nikki! The pink is really pretty, and the second project looks neither easy nor simple to me. It looks like lace, so pretty. Is it a Christmas gift for someone? I can't wait to use my Christmas coasters this year!
Mykidsmom, no, it is definitely NOT a Christmas gift; I've spent too much time (and will continue to) on this thing to give it away. Selfish, aren't I?
Absolutely not selfish. You deserve to keep some of those pretty things you put so much work into. I know I would:)
