I don't think any of my readers crochet, but I enjoyed Hooked for Life, Adventures of a Crochet Zealot by Mary Beth Temple so much that I felt that I should review it, you know, just in case. This is not a book of patterns, and actually it only has two or three in it. This book contains a collection of trials and tribulations, anecdotes, foibles, etc. that are unique to those of us who crochet. I'm not exactly sure how else to describe it, but if you like to crochet, I really think you will enjoy this book. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed it so much that I just had to tell you about it even though you don't crochet (as far as I know). However, if you do read my blog and you do crochet, please, please leave a comment so that I know that I am not alone. As far as I know, I only know one other person who crochets, and it's a little lonely. Do you have a hobby like that, one where you don't know anyone else who participates?

I want to learn, honestly I do. But I have a suspicion it's not going to happen any time soon. Glad you enjoyed the book though:)
When people tell me they don't have time to learn to crochet, I ask them if they have time to watch tv. However, I know that you don't even have one, so I won't bother asking you that. I will just say that I hope you are able to find the time soon because I think you will enjoy it and find it relaxing.
Wow, only 112 days and little baby sister will arrive.... that is soooo cool.
I crochet! I'm still a beginner, but I do crochet baby blankets and potholders and have started a ripple stitch afghan after seeing the lovely one by Jane Brocket in her book, The Gentle Art of Domesticity. I knit most of the time, but crocheting is a good way to rest my hands from knitting, and it's so much faster than knitting.
This sounds like a good book, and I'm glad you reviewed it and posted it at Semicolon. I'm going to find a copy or request it from the library.
Thanks!
