The Sock Fairy and Other Assorted Items

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Are you wearing green?  We are!  I thought today might be a good day to discuss a creature even more elusive than the leprechaun.  What is it?  The Sock Fairy!  Does one live in your home?  (And no, I am not talking about the gremlin who steals your socks right out of your dryer.)

John discovered the Sock Fairy a few years ago.  I don't know if he actually saw her, or if he just used his deductive reasoning to figure out that she exists.  You see, the Sock Fairy makes sure there are always clean socks in your drawer when you need them.  She is especially attentive to the man of the house, although she does take care of the rest of the household as well.  As far as I know (and there is very, very little information out there about the Sock Fairy), there are actually many Sock Fairies, enough to populate most houses.  Does your family (especially your husband) always have clean socks when needed?  If so, you probably have a Sock Fairy living in your home!

I would also like to inform you about Marva's giveaway.  Although she won't tell exactly what she is going to giveaway, the hints sound good.  If you decide to head over there to enter (and please do!), be sure to mention me so I will get another entry.  Oh, yes, that is a shameless plug for me to get more entries!

So does your husband ever leave enticements for the sock fairie? Like maybe $20 to go shopping with..lol. Most fairies/leprechauns need some sort of enticement to keep up their job you know. Just a thought:)

I can't think of a single frugal idea that Marva doesn't already know. That's probably not really true, but I definitely am going to have to think about it.

I don't think Marva said that the frugal idea had to be something she didn't know because you're right, she knows them all!

No, John never leaves enticements for the Sock Fairy. Maybe she would do an even better job with an occasional treat. Hmmm. I will have to mention that to John.

Owen and I talk about the fairies that live in our house all the time. The sock fairy was a slacker this weekend, though. :o)

The sock fairy is great with one exception, she always throws away my prize socks. You know the ones with the holes that have many good memories and are nice and soft.

That last comment was made by John, if you couldn't tell. And my reply to him is that is the Sock Fairy's job!

I knew that anonymous comment was from John before I read your comment. You know how I knew? Because Adam says the exact same thing! :) I managed to get rid of the holey socks. Now if I could just talk him into pitching some of those pants that he wore in high school... :) Is there such thing as a pants fairy? Really though, I'm thankful for a frugal husband!

I completely forgot that today was St. Patrick's Day until I read your blog. Oh well.
