WIP Wednesday

I have been working diligently on my centerpiece, and it now measures about six inches in diameter.  (I tell you that because it's hard to know how big something is from a picture, sometimes.)  I am using bedspread weight yarn; does anyone know why it is called that?  I cannot imagine making a bedspread with it.

As I said I would last week, I started on another baby blanket.  I like these colors, but they are not really "baby" colors, are they?  I bought the yarn while it was on sale, and I wanted to use it.  If you are pregnant and like these colors, or know someone who is pregnant and might like them, let me know.  Maybe I will just keep the blanket for our next baby, whenever that will be.

For other works in progress, or to join in yourself, head over to the Place of H.

Lovely, and I couldn't imagine making a whole bedspread out of that yarn either. It would take forever!

Would you be willing to host WIP Wednesday next week for me while I'm gone? I'm going to schedule a post and just send all readers to you if you are willing, and you can do the post and the Mr. Linky.

I love the colors! How bout an older (3-5ish) niece or friend's girl? My husband was going to crochet a tablecloth for his mom and gave up because it would have taken the rest of her lifetime and some of his to complete it. You have a beautiful piece going there. If anyone wanted to make me a bedspread out of that yarn, I would not object. Not at all!

That centerpiece is so pretty! And I think that those colors are just fine for a baby blanket.

I love the centerpiece, very pretty. I think your yarn will make a great baby blanket. I think it would be fun to have something other than the traditional blue/pink/yellow.
