Winter finally arrived down here last week. Finally. We had highs in the forties which I know is not very cold for some of my readers. Yesterday, the high was in the thirties, and we tend only to have a few days like that. Today I think it is supposed to be in the fifties which is a more normal temperature for us.
What kind of weather are you having? I seem to think that if it's cold down here, it must be cold everywhere!

I love snow in Augusta. It is always a surprise. I am happy that the temps up here are finally in the double digits. It warmed up from last week where it was 9F one day. And we got over 3 inches of snow that has stuck around all week. Not much compared to some real wintery places but fun for kids. And good exercise shoveling.
I am almost done with the series which will make my family happy as I struggle with maintaining my link to reality when I get sucked into books. Dinner tends to be last minute pancakes or peanut butter and jelly. The laundry piles up and I am unavailable for evening conversation. My check came over the weekend when Virginia had a stomach bug. You know you have a problem when you want to tell your daughter to hold her own hair as she vomits so you don't have to interrupt your page. (I did actually put the book down for a while.)
Needless to say, I'm enjoying the books. Thanks for the recommendation. And I really like your new red rug and urns. I bet they look great in the family room. ERIN
Actually we are having a heat wave today in the Upper Peninsula. It was 24* at 9am. Yah! Last week it was below zero all week and I kept my youngest home from preschool. All the schools around us were closed except the school district our kids go to. Figures! But what am I complaining about? I didn't have to bring them to school! My dh does that. =) If you want some snow, I'll send it your way. We have more than plenty to go around!
What's the good of snow if it doesn't stick? LOL It really IS pretty to watch though. Sarah Beth wasn't impressed huh?:) You never can tell what will impress kids. I bet if she had been able to make a snowman or snow angels she would have been.
I think it's been in the 30's to 40's here, and even lower at night. We've been getting some lovely sunny days though. It's not a warm sunny mind you, but it's so nice to have it streaming in the windows. That's the hardest thing when our rainy season comes, the overcast sky and dimness. Makes me feel down just thinking about it.
I just love this background Angela came up with, makes me wish I had the word "notes" in my blog title, lol. Your blog is one of those that does NOT give me a sensory overload when I come on it, which is so nice. Some of them are a bit overwhelming.
Have a great day Nikki!
