Last night in church, we sang the hymn "It is Well with my Soul." Whenever we sing that hymn, I always get chill bumps, especially on the third verse. "My sin -- oh, what bliss of that glorious thought, my sin -- not in part but the whole, was nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, oh, my soul." I got chill bumps just now typing it up.
I read Two-Part Invention: The Story of a Marriage last week, and I really enjoyed it. I don't know if you know that Madeleine L'Engle is a Christian, but this is the story of her and her husband's love for each other. It is a touching love story of how they met, grew together, and how she took care of him when he lay dying from cancer. If you are looking for a good read, this book is it. If you are looking for a book to encourage your marriage, this is it, too.

Good morning Nikki. I too love that song. One of my best friends can sing it like no one's business and you can feel the anointing of God through it. Awesome!
Yes, I did sign up for another challenge. Mostly because I want to expand my horizons. I tend to stick to the same ol' stuff otherwise. This way I can get to know some new authors. And I have! I've read some really good books the past coupla weeks. I find bits and pieces of time to read. At the bus stops and after I've put the kids to bed. Only problem is I tend to read too late and I suffer for it the next day.
Two-Part Invention sounds good. I love Madeleine L'Engle's books.

Oh Nikki, I love that verse of It Is Well. Honestly, I could just shout when we get to that part of the song (and I'm not a shouting in church kind of person,lol). The story behind that song is amazing as well.
I totally can sympathize with the "baby growing up" part. I feel like I've been struggling with that a lot lately (and mine is 6). On one hand it's good, because it means you love being a mommy; but you're right, it's harder on us than them.
It's my goal to read more inspiring and instructive books (in addition to my much-loved mysteries:). I'm going to see if the library carries this one. Thanks for the recommend!
Hello! It was so great to read and catch up! I remember feeling sad when Iza just pretty much rejected me at 9 months and stopped nursing! I know realize God intended for little Olivia to be here!! :) I will have to check out that book when we are back. I need some good books to read while I am here. The girls are sleeping and with Olivia in that standing, falling, just learning how to get down from standing stage, I haven't had much computer time. THere is only about 30 min during the day when they both sleep other than at night or in the stroller! They love to sleep in the stroller but that doesn't do me much good because I am either shopping or walking or my face is freezing! haha. The other day they both slept until 9 am! I would love it if they keep that up!!!!
Anyways, I can't wait to visit you guys!! Iza told me yesterday that "Sarah Beth does that". I thought it was funny.
