Fired for Being a Hero?

Would you believe that someone could be fired for being a hero? Here is a story about one. Mark Beverly was a third-shift worker at a convenience store which was robbed. He thought his female co-worker was being attacked, so he jumped on her attacker. The thief ran off. The next day Beverly was fired. The company he worked for has a policy that says "cooperate: don't argue, resist or attack the robber." Does anyone else think this is nuts?

If you help out - You get fired for not obeying the rules.

If you don't help out - You get investigated because you were probably in on it.
